In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the narrative pushed by mainstream media and government officials was one of dramatic collapse. The towers, struck by commercial airplanes, supposedly fell due to the structural damage and fires ignited by the impact. However, Dr. Wood presents a compelling counter-narrative, questioning the very definition of a "collapse."
Highlighting various aspects of the aftermath, she argues there should have been an enormous amount of rubble remaining if the buildings had indeed collapsed. Instead, what the world saw were small debris piles and significant amounts of dust. Dr. Wood emphasizes this with poignant observations; if the towers had collapsed, the seismic readings would have been drastically different.
