Initial investigations revealed that the collapses of the Twin Towers were recorded in remarkably short spans of time—approximately 10 seconds for the South Tower, as stated in the 911 Commission Report. To consider the sheer scale of this, let’s note that these were 110-story buildings. Under normal circumstances, if each floor were to collapse sequentially, it would take much longer. For instance, a one-second fall per floor across 110 floors should theoretically take 110 seconds, yet it happened in only about one-tenth of that time.
