The later tests uncovered 265 base pairs that matched a human, yet additional patterns revealed over 700 differences from human DNA. The presence of a gene known as fox P2 (important for speech and language) demonstrated extremely heightened levels of mutation, leading researchers to conclude that the Starchild could not be human—or even closely related to any known species.
