One of Hank's significant challenges involved finding an effective sealing solution for the tank. He employed a combination of a rubber gasket and a stainless steel ring to create a seal, but leaks persisted, leading to hours of troubleshooting. To detect these leaks, Hank used a reverse pressure technique; by pressurizing the tank with compressed air and applying soap around suspected leak sites, he could visually identify escaping air through bubbles.

In addition to this traditional method, he mentioned that some experiments use helium for leak testing, citing its smaller molecular size compared to the nitrogen and oxygen in air, thus allowing it to locate leaks more effectively.
