Fibonacci's most noteworthy contributions stem from his 1202 book, Liber Abaci, which aimed to popularize the Hindu-Arabic numeral system and its advantages over the Roman numeral system then prevalent in Europe. This book not only highlighted the practicality of the numeral system for commercial bookkeeping but also introduced the famous Fibonacci sequence.
Fibonacci's relationship with mathematics extended beyond mere equations; he became a prominent advisor to the Republic of Pisa, earning a salary for his services. Estimates suggest that he passed away around 1240 to 1250, back in his native Pisa.
