The Tomahawk missile boasts remarkable capabilities, including the ability to fly over 1,000 miles. It can be launched from both ships and submarines, with the flexibility to loiter in the air—flying in a figure-eight pattern—allowing operators to change its destination mid-flight if necessary. Despite being in service since the 1980s, the missile has continually evolved, with the newest iteration manufactured since 2004 capable of remaining operational for up to 30 years before returning for recertification and upgrades, typically after 15 years of service.
