Part 4/6:
At the core of the Tomahawk’s functionality is its rocket motor, which serves to propel the missile from a vertical launch system. Viewers of missile launches will recognize the plume that signifies the missile's exit from naval vessels. As the missile ascends, it transitions from an underwater launch mode to aerial flight, executing its mission effectively. With a GPS-guided warhead, the Tomahawk can strike targets with precise accuracy, capable of hitting within mere feet of its intended impact zone.
Each Tomahawk missile is priced at approximately $1.1 million and weighs around 3,500 pounds. This enormous firepower is exemplified when 60 missiles were launched towards Syria, resulting in a staggering 210,000 pounds of deployed force.
