The crash left notable remnants of the bomber’s destruction; one of the aircraft’s propellers was found lodged deep within the walls of the skyscraper, while one of its elevators plummeted a staggering 80 floors. Fragments of the bomber’s engines crashed to the ground, with one landing nearly 1,000 feet below and another landing on the roof of a neighboring twelve-story building. Fortunately, the chaos did not extend to the streets below, where pedestrians escaped injury despite the aircraft's components raining down across busy 34th Street.
