Aviation experts estimate that Flight 93 was traveling at speeds between 563 and 580 miles per hour before its tragic crash. The impact was profound—creating a 15-foot deep hole in the earth and shaking the ground beneath the feet of nearby residents. As David Stotler recalls, he witnessed the plane barreling towards him from across the road. He immediately ran towards the crash site, recounting how the plane seemed to dive straight into the ground, leaving a chaotic aftermath in its wake.
Stotler described the scene as chaotic and filled with debris. “It was just a big hole in the ground,” he said, with remnants scattered everywhere—burning parts of the aircraft and papers fluttering in the wind, embodying the horror of that moment.
