The roots of our current 12-month calendar trace back to 46 BC, initiated by Julius Caesar, who modified the existing 10-month structure to accommodate 12 months. The decision brought about a significant shift in how time was perceived and managed. However, it seems that not every civilization adopted this model immediately or entirely; for instance, the ancient Jews and Egyptians used a 13-month lunar calendar that was intricately connected to their agricultural and religious practices.
The importance of these ancient calendars cannot be overstated, as they were designed to intertwine with seasonal cycles and ensure that significant festivals occurred at appropriate times.
