Gnosticism posits that the biblical God—often referred to as the Demiurge—is an evil figure who ensnares humanity in ignorance. Instead, Gnostics regard Lucifer not as the antagonist but as the liberator who bestows knowledge and enlightenment.
Historically, Gnosticism emerged in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD and borrows themes from Christianity, albeit repackaging them in ways that align more closely with its esoteric philosophies.
