Upon arrival, police found Hackman's body in the entrance hallway and his wife in the bathroom, with the dog found lifeless in a kennel nearby. In addition to the deceased, two other dogs were located on the premises—one in the home and another outside.
Authorities reported the presence of prescription pills strewn across a counter, indicative of potential substance involvement. Yet, after an initial examination, they ruled out foul play, stating that there were no signs of a struggle or entry by an intruder.
