Part 2/7:
The initial experiment utilized a neodymium magnet measuring 5/8 inches in diameter by 3/8 inches tall (N42 grade). The magnetic strength was measured at approximately 4,000 Gauss. Observations were made using magnetic viewing paper to identify the north and south poles of the magnet, which were crucial in subsequent experiments involving drops through tubes of varying lengths.
The magnets were dropped in pairs, sometimes with opposing poles facing each other and at other times with like poles facing. The configurations were varied systematically to observe differences in their falling speeds and behavior.
