Upon disassembly, the extent of the rust was evident. There were several components showing signs of wear and tear, but the bearing areas seemed to present the most significant challenge. I took the necessary time to carefully clean these areas, eager to remove any obstructions that might hinder the machine's performance.
Cleaning Process: Disassembling for Restoration
Armed with cleaning tools and a clear vision, I dove into the restoration process. It was essential to wash out the rust and grime, and I opted to use the sink for a thorough clean. As I scrubbed away at the rust, I noticed that the cleaning revealed fine, hardened steel parts, some of which still bore markings suggesting their original functionality.
