The Circuit Setup

Two small capacitors
Larger electrolytic capacitors
Four diodes, specifically 1N34 types
These circuits were physically arranged—sandwiched atop each other—to optimize performance. Interestingly, Paul also connected a third circuit, which provided an unconventional boost: higher voltage with a lower current output.
