Motivated to improve his results, Paul has been practicing in his own backyard with a smaller 12T High board, measuring just 1 inch by 12 inches, mounted onto a patio table designed as an umbrella stand. His experiments include attaching a copper U-plate or an 18-inch metal sphere atop the antenna to see if these modifications can boost voltage output. While both methods marginally increased voltage, the gains were modest and did not meet his expectations.
