Looking ahead, Paul is eager to experiment with smaller magnets, such as those with thicknesses of one-eighth of an inch, to explore how weight and size influence the descent time and eddy current effects. He mentions the possibility of measuring the magnets' weight directly using a sensitive fishing scale, affixed with a nylon string, to examine the relationship between mass and electromagnetic resistance.
He also reports attempts to detect any electric current within the copper tubes using specialized meters, but so far, no current has been observed. This points to the predominance of magnetic damping over significant measurable current in the present setup. Nonetheless, Paul plans to employ more sensitive equipment in future experiments to detect subtler electrical phenomena.
