  • Object to be Lifted: A bottle of water, weighing approximately 3 pounds, is placed on the aluminum plate. The water bottle is a convenient, non-metallic object to illustrate weight without complicating the experiment with additional metal interference.

  • Levitating Coil: A coil with about 100 windings, approximately 650 feet of 22-gauge wire, is used. The coil has a diameter of around 5.5 inches from the center and is the source of the electromagnetic field required for levitation.

Furthermore, the entire weight of the aluminum plate, the water bottle, and the coil sums to about 10 pounds, as measured on a basic scale.
