Significant attention was given to the vice and machine surfaces. The bronze bushings within the vice were replaced to reduce wear and improve movement. The surface area, especially around the guiding grooves, was meticulously refilled, refiled, and repaired. The pins responsible for securing the vice were replaced with longer, more durable pins to prevent damage accumulated over the years. Additionally, an emergency back piece was added for extra safety and stability, reflecting proactive thinking for maintenance and operational safety.
