Many of these parts are vintage, marked with the Allmark insignia, which adds to their historical value. I plan to clean the brass surroundings to restore their visual appeal and maintain the machine's antique charm.
The Worthington All-Drive System
One of the standout features of this lathe is its Worthington all-drive system. I had previously restored this drive mechanism about a year and a half ago, and it still functions impressively. This system utilizes a lever that activates a pair of rotating pulleys, which can be moved up or down to adjust the speed—an unusual and elegant solution for variable speed control in vintage machinery.
