This homemade loop antenna differs from typical configurations. Instead of a simple wire or commercially available antenna, this setup combines salvaged wooden pallets, machined steel, and custom mechanical parts. It reflects a practical approach to experimenting with specialized radio frequencies, especially in the VLF and ELF ranges where noise and interference pose challenges.
The experimenter notes that, aside from the loop, they also employ a long wire antenna approximately 150 feet in length, which also performs well. The dual-antenna setup provides flexibility for exploring different signal behaviors and environmental conditions.
