Part 1/7:
Inside the Fascinating World of a Hobbyist's Radio and Antenna Setup
In a recent recording, an enthusiast shares an in-depth update on his elaborate radio and antenna system, revealing a passion for vintage and modern radio technology, as well as some creative engineering solutions.
Building and Assembling the VLF Loop Antenna
The hobbyist begins by describing the construction of a Very Low Frequency (VLF) loop antenna measuring four feet by four feet. He notes that all components are securely glued and that the wires are properly attached, ensuring a tight fit for optimal performance. The antenna will be mounted on a pipe structure, featuring a custom-made bushing crafted on a lathe. This bushing allows the antenna to rotate, enabling the user to find "hot spots" more effectively.
