- Projection Surface: For the ISS to appear in the sky as a projection, it would need a surface to cast onto, such as the Sun or Moon. Yet, transit observations indicate the ISS appears at different times depending on your geographical location, which wouldn't be possible if it were a simple projection on a celestial surface.
