Photographs of the ISS, taken with high-speed cameras and sensitive equipment, clearly show the station as a relatively small bright dot in the sky.
The same camera settings used to photograph the sun, which is vastly brighter, show the sun as a faint blur, confirming that the ISS is not nearly as bright as a celestial object like the Sun.
If the ISS were as reflective as claimed, it would cast glaring reflections or even light up the ground beneath it. Such effects are not observed.
The Implausibility of a Giant Drone or Plane
Some conspiracy theories suggest that the ISS is actually a fleet of high-altitude aircraft, like modified B-2 bombers or U-2 spy planes, flying in formation to mimic the appearance of a space station.
