However, as with aircraft like Concorde—the only two supersonic passenger jets to ever operate—just because something becomes feasible doesn't mean it makes economic sense. Concorde's high operating costs led to its retirement despite the technological progress, and similarly, the high costs and limited immediate benefits have kept lunar missions on the back burner.
