The fashion industry, particularly fast fashion, is another domain rife with greenwashing. H&M, for instance, introduced a “conscious collection” that purportedly embraced sustainable practices. However, this collection constituted only a small fraction of the company’s overall output, largely overshadowed by conventional synthetic production practices. Although marketed as environmentally conscious, these efforts can often be seen as mere strategies to bolster the brand's reputation rather than genuine attempts to foster sustainable change.
