Each Mac Studio in the cluster is powered by the M2 Ultra chip and features 64 GB of unified RAM, which can be used flexibly by both the CPU and GPU. This unified memory architecture is a game changer, allowing for a combined total of 320 GB available for GPU tasks across the five devices.
Networking is fundamentally important in clustering, and in this case, a 10-gigabit Ethernet connection serves to connect the Macs. It's anticipated that networking will be a bottleneck during operations, given that enterprise-level AI networking usually requires speeds of 400 gigabits per second or more.
