## Step 7: Restart Claude Desktop
In some cases, Claude Desktop may not recognize the newly set up mCP server immediately. If this happens, uninstall Claude Desktop and reinstall it. This step has been noted as a common troubleshooting step, allowing your mCP server to be recognized.
## Step 8: Test Your Tool
Once Claude Desktop recognizes the server, you can try out the tool. Initiate a command to count the number of "R"s in "strawberry" using the command:
"Count the number of R's in the word strawberry using the count R tool."
