Part 3/11:
The process begins similarly to conventional seed creation: generating a new seed, backing it up onto a secure seed keeper card, and initializing a secure element (SATA chip) with the seed. The user interacts with a familiar interface, backing up their seed to a physical seed keeper card, which can be stored securely offline.
Initializing the SATA Chip Card
The transformative step involves initializing a SATA chip smart card with the seed, setting a PIN for transaction authorization. Once initialized, the seed exists simultaneously in three places:
The seed keeper card (backup storage)
The seed signer device (in-memory during operation)
The SATA smart card (for secure signing)
Importantly, the seed never leaves the smart card once stored, ensuring maximum security.
