Part 2/9:

Most cold wallets come with a paper to write down your seed phrase. At first glance, this seems simple and effective—storing your seed on paper tucked inside a fireproof safe. However, this method has significant vulnerabilities.

Why? Because paper begins to char at approximately 370°F and ignites around 450°F. During a house fire, temperatures soar well beyond these points, often reaching 800-1200°F, which can char or destroy the paper entirely. Even a fireproof safe might only keep the inside temperature below 350°F for a limited time, risking damage to your seed phrase. So, while paper may seem like a good solution, it’s inherently fragile and vulnerable to disasters.
