Part 8/8:

Our society must recalibrate its approach to crime and mental health. Compassion alone is insufficient; it must be paired with accountability and systemic change to prevent tragedies. As the adage goes, "There but for the grace of God go I," but our actions determine whether we enable or prevent evil.

Holding perpetrators accountable is not cruelty—it’s a form of true compassion, protecting society and offering a path toward genuine healing. Recognizing emotional manipulation and addressing systemic failures will do more to reduce violence than empty appeals that evade responsibility. Only then can we ensure that empathy becomes a force for good, not a tool for enabling evil.
