Part 2/8:
On August 22nd, Ina Zarutska sat peacefully on a bus when D. Carlos Brown inexplicably attacked her. The attack was cold-blooded and brutal, yet coverage of this incident has been surprisingly muted. Zarutska, a white woman who fled war-torn Ukraine, was clearly the victim of a senseless act of violence. In sharp contrast, similar high-profile cases involving Black perpetrators and white victims often garner extensive media attention. The question arises: why has the murder of Zarutska received little coverage from major outlets like The New York Times, CNN, and MSNBC?
