By the time the story reaches the far future—trillions of years from now—the universe is a cold, dark remnant of stars, with only white dwarfs fading into oblivion. Humanity’s descendants, now disembodied minds, ask the same question again: Can entropy be reversed?
Despite trillions of years of data collection and analysis, the AI, the all-encompassing consciousness, still replies, “Insufficient data for a meaningful answer.” The universe’s death seems inevitable; the stars are gone, matter and energy are approaching final silence.
