Imagine the entire internet as a massive ocean. The part you're familiar with is the surface web—the top layer of the ocean, sunny and shallow, right by the beach. This is where all the websites you visit—like Google, Wikipedia, or your favorite shopping site—reside. It’s bright, noisy, and open for anyone to see, like a front yard with a welcome sign. This public part of the internet constitutes roughly 5% of the entire ocean.
