In most countries, visiting the dark web is not illegal—using tools like Tor is perfectly legal. The key point is what you do there. Just like owning a kitchen knife isn't illegal—using it to cook a meal is fine but using it to commit a crime isn’t. Participating in illegal transactions or activities on the dark web is what can land you in trouble.
Additionally, the dark web isn’t as user-friendly as the surface web. Finding sites requires knowing their exact address or using directories, and browsing can be very slow because of all the bouncing around of your data.
