The current landscape of American conservative politics and international policy is increasingly shaped by a new generation of hawkish ideologues whom we can call "neon neocons." These figures, exemplified by individuals such as Douglas Murray, James Lindsay, Constantin Kissing, Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin, and Jordan Peterson, share more similarities than differences with the original neocons of the Cold War and post-9/11 eras—though they often cast themselves in a different ideological light.
