Part 2/14:
Neon neocons are effectively the next generation of neocons—driven by a shared focus on aggressive foreign policy, unwavering support for Israel, and cultural warfare narratives, but with a modern veneer that leverages social media and online platforms. Unlike the original neocons, who primarily emerged from the Trotskyist left and redefined themselves as conservative hawks during the 1970s and 1980s, today's neon neocons are often late Gen Xers or early Millennials. They are more adept at utilizing digital media, podcasts, and YouTube to influence public discourse.
Prominent examples include:
- Douglas Murray, initially known as a war supporter and neocon
- James Lindsay and Constantin Kissing, vocal on culture war issues
