Part 10/16:
Hancock claims Göbekli Tepe was intentionally buried as a “time capsule” to protect it from erosion and to serve as a warning of a recent catastrophe—the Younger Dryas, a purported global melt-down event around 12,900 years ago. Mainstream archaeology, however, suggests that the site was deliberately filled with soil in later periods, not as a “warning” but likely as a way of reusing or obscuring the site.
He also states that the archaeological record for sites predating Gobekli Tepe is nonexistent, implying a sudden appearance of advanced architecture, an idea that misrepresents the complexity of archaeological discovery and understanding.
