Part 2/18:
Hancock begins by discussing Atlantis, a legendary city first introduced by Plato during the Greek Classical era. Traditionally, Atlantis has been viewed as an allegorical story—symbolizing hubris and human pride—rather than a literal past civilization. However, as civilizations progressed through the early modern and industrial ages, curiosity shifted toward the possibility that Atlantis was indeed real.
During this time, eager explorers and enthusiasts speculated on its possible location, often relying on myths, legends, and questionable European maps with little concrete evidence. Over the last 30 years, this quest has evolved into a more scientific pursuit, with researchers seeking physical evidence of ancient, advanced societies that predate known civilizations.
