Part 3/11:
Suddenly, Banser is interrupted by the twanging strings of a familiar liar, played by his close friend Kakai. The musician’s cheerful tone and courteous greeting momentarily lift Banser’s gloom. Kakai, ever optimistic, wishes to share his good fortune, urging Banser to borrow a few shekels for a nobleman's feast that evening. Yet, Banser’s response is despairingly honest: his purse is empty—his entire fortune is his labor, and it cannot be lent.
