Part 9/16:
Funding Corruption and Human Rights Violations
The aid provided by the IMF and World Bank has often exacerbated human suffering. Countries like Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and others received billions but saw their economies collapse, accompanied by human rights abuses, forced relocations, and genocidal policies. In Tanzania, the "villagization" program displaced peasants into government-controlled villages, undermining agriculture and fostering starvation. In Zimbabwe, land confiscations and socialist policies decimated the economy, leading to hyperinflation and famine.
