Motivation as an Innate Framing System

From the moment we come into the world, humans are equipped with innate motivational systems that act as initial framing devices for interaction with the environment. Babies, for instance, are driven by basic needs such as hunger, cold, thirst, and discomfort, which are hardwired to ensure survival. These foundational categories of existence—hunger, pain, pleasure, and emotions like sadness or joy—are prepackaged, guiding infants' behaviors towards biological needs that promote survival.
