Acosta's departure comes amid reports that CNN's president Mark Thompson intends to overhaul the network’s programming. It appears that Acosta's move to leave was largely in response to being reassigned to a less favorable time slot. Going forward, Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown will co-host a new two-hour morning show in place of Acosta.
