For decades, Boeing has been one of the most important industrial companies in the United States. Its factory in Everett, Washington, is the largest manufacturing facility of any kind anywhere in the world. At its peak in 2018, Boeing generated over $100 billion in revenue and was the single largest exporter in the United States by value.
A String of Disasters
However, over the past six years, Boeing has faced numerous disasters. It started with the two tragic crashes of 737 Max planes, which left 346 people dead. Since then, the company has experienced a string of safety issues, production issues, worker strikes, and cost overruns, leading to severe financial difficulty.
