You're sitting on the edge of the bed, trying to have an honest dialogue with yourself. The little voice inside says it's "pretty disgusting in here." You think, "Well, I'm way above such trivial niceties as organizing my room." But then, you realize that's just pride and arrogance. If you're above organizing what's actually yours, how can you ever hope to organize anything else?
So, you get on your knees and decide it's time to start with the basics - taking a brush to the toilet. These micro-improvements, these real, on-the-ground, actual changes, can lead to unbelievable progress. But the key is to not get stuck in resignation, to not lose hope.
