One of the most difficult, yet liberating, things you can do is to take extreme ownership of your life. Stop blaming your boss, your partner, or external factors for your problems. Acknowledge that the issues in your life are a result of your own actions, or lack thereof. This painful realization is also empowering, because it means you have the power to fix them.
Integrate Emotions into the Calculus
Don't ignore your emotions, but don't let them be the sole driver of your decisions either. Incorporate your emotions, logic, goals, and other factors into a balanced "calculus" when making important choices. This will help you make more well-rounded, sustainable decisions.
