Moving on from the lizards, the Wambi Wambi was another deadly creature lurking in the grasslands. This gigantic snake, which could grow between 4 to 6 meters long, would wrap around unsuspecting prey like kangaroo and wallaby, squeezing them to death. Although it has long since vanished, it too showcased the deadly ambiance that early humans would have had to navigate.
