Currently under contract with the Chicago Cubs, Taillon has displayed reliability with a sub-4 ERA and an impressive ability to pitch deep into games — notching quality starts and even striking out ten batters in a memorable outing against the Mets.
While Taillon provides control and experience, he does not possess the same striking capabilities as Scott, averaging K/9 rates closer to the league average. The Cubs are reportedly also looking to offload salary, which might create an opportunity for the Mets to acquire Taillon without sacrificing their top prospects.
