Part 4/10:
Cohen's rise accelerated when he began working at Gruntal & Co., a less-than-reputable brokerage firm. Here, his meteoric ascent began; he was known for generating profits of $100,000 a day for the firm. After several successful years, he launched his own hedge fund, SAC Capital Advisors, with a staggering $25 million of his own capital.
Under Cohen’s leadership, SAC Capital flourished, achieving remarkable annual returns of around 30%. His trading strategy revolved around fast-paced trades in volatile markets, capitalizing on earnings announcements and other key events. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Cohen thrived in high-risk environments and famously boasted of only three losing months in his first seven years of managing money.
