A visit to Acacia Mall was on our agenda, and the mall showcased a blend of local and international products. Despite the modern feel of the mall, our family found the prices to be much higher than anticipated—especially compared to what we were used to back home. The search continued for local garments to help us feel more connected to our surroundings.
Encountering Local Culture
The kids had their fair share of drama regarding who got to sit in the front during car rides, but the lively traffic of Kalala quickly captivated them. Describing the hustle and bustle, I noted the energetic traffic, consisting of various modes of transportation, which felt almost instinctual. Communication through honks created an unusual yet efficient method of navigating the streets.
